The Barn at Crumwald

401 Rogers Lane. Wallingford, PA

Ground Yourself Here

The barn is a welcoming space to silence notifications, deepen the breath, stretch the muscles, and listen - to what your body and the surrounding wilderness has to say.

A place to return to yourself, get lost in the landscape, or connect with a blossoming local community.

Our offerings may ebb and flow with the seasons, the moon cycles, or the state of the world.

We at the barn embrace the differences in human bodies, personal histories, gender preferences and physical abilities. All are welcome here.

Founded by Women.

Created for Community.

Nurtured by Nature.

Rooted in Love.

“Like wildflowers, you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.”

— E.V. Rogina

Set on a historic dairy farm in Wallingford, PA

In 1888, the land that is now Crumwald was originally developed as a dairy farm called Downing’s Creamery. Its milk was sold by farmers for use on the Pennsylvania Railroad. In 1925, the property was purchased by a local family and served as a private residence, until it was donated to Swarthmore College in 1965.

On July 31, 1955 an arsonist set fire to the barn and it was completely destroyed. The owners rebuilt the barn shortly thereafter. The Barn at Crumwald has been recently restored again by its new owners, with the intention of creating a unique practice and healing space for the local community.

The property’s name stems from the adjacent woods (Crum Woods) and creek (Crum Creek).

We acknowledge that The Barn at Crumwald rests on Indigenous land that is part of the traditional territory of the Lenni-Lenape, called Lenapehoking.  We acknowledge the Lenni-Lenape as the original people of these lands and waters, and their continuing relationship with their territory.
